The Author

Kelvin Snaith is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and founder of Hands Up Therapy, an innovative approach to managing emotions, developed through his extensive clinical experience. After starting his career in fitness and nutrition, Kelvin retrained in psychotherapy following his own mental health recovery journey. With over 5,000 hours of therapy delivered across the NHS, private, and charitable sectors, he has supported clients through a wide range of challenges—including depression, anxiety, and complex emotions such as shame and guilt. After several years of intensive clinical work, Kelvin took a sabbatical to reflect on his practice, consolidating his learning and creating 5000 Hours In Therapy—a practical guide to better mental health built on the real strategies that have helped his clients create lasting change. He has since returned to full-time clinical practice, continuing to support individuals on their mental health journeys. Outside of work, Kelvin is a passionate masters sprinter and advocate for holistic wellbeing.
